Four Skincare Tips to Get the Most out Of Your Products

For many of us, skincare routines change with the season and our age. Though we may be willing to invest in good quality skincare products, many of us aren’t taught how to use these products efficiently. Here are five tips to get the most out of your skincare routine and give you the glow-up you’ve been waiting for.

Keep Your Skin Damp Before Moisturizing

According to dermatologists slightly damp skin is better at absorbing moisture. Cleanse your skin with a cleanser and warm water and then pat dry with a soft towel as gently as you can. Moisturizing while your skin is still damp allows the skin cells to soak in moisture.

Swap Your Astringent for A Toner

Astringents definitely had their day in the sun, but thankfully that day is long gone. Though these products can reduce blemishes and have antibacterial properties, the alcohol content in them is bad news for your skin. Using a toner is a much better option since it helps even out your skin tone, reduces inflammation, and maintains the Ph balance of your skin. Prolonged use can reduce the number of breakouts you have too.

Use a Makeup Remover that Does Double Duty

The only thing better than putting makeup on is taking it off at the end of the day. There is a range of makeup removers on the market which are suited to a wide variety of skin types. Whatever your skin type, try to find a product line that breaks down makeup and doesn’t need you to rub or scrub your skin clean. If you wear a lot of makeup, consider double cleansing, a method that originated in Korea. This involves cleansing with an oil-based cleanser and following it up with a water-based cleanser. However, if you wear minimal makeup, find a product that aids with collagen production and nourishes the skin.

Keep It Simple

Stay on top of your skincare by keeping your daily routine as simple as possible. One way to do this is by purchasing a product line. Choose a cruelty-free, organic brand that has a cleanser, a vitamin C serum, a toner, and a moisturizer that suits you.
